PrimeShred is one of my favorite thermogenic fat burners. I’ve used it myself a couple of times, with some solid results, and have always admired the ingredients list on offer with it.

It works consistently, is very effective, and has had a great impact on my own weight loss journey. I’ve run cuts with far greater ease and suffered far fewer side effects, enabling me to achieve my targets way more comfortably and successfully.

Today, I want to run through everything I’ve learned about PrimeShred, so you can decide if it’s the fat burner you need.

Quick Verdict: Is PrimeShred Any Good?

PrimeShred fulfils a great niche. It’s common to experience various side effects when on a weight loss diet, not least of which are cognitive and mental health concerns.

As a weight loss aid AND a nootropic, PrimeShred should help you to overcome this, supporting your body as it loses weight and your brain as it struggles with a reduced calorie intake.

It does both admirably, making it a great bet for anybody looking to shed some unwanted fat safely, healthily, and happily.

What is PrimeShred?

PrimeShred in hand

PrimeShred is a thermogenic fat burner at heart. As such, it offers everything that a good thermogenic burner should – it makes any weight loss journey easier to stick to, with far fewer of the often-ruinous side effects hitting you, whilst also helping your body become more efficient at shedding body fat.

This all comes courtesy of a range of excellent ingredients, all with solid clinical data backing them up, all of which should come together to give you an impressive array of benefits.

In fact, you get a couple of my favorites included in the formula, with the likes of green tea, rhodiola rosea, and B vitamins making a large impact.

PrimeShred goes beyond being a simple thermogenic fat burner, though. It’s also a first-class nootropic supplement, designed to aid your mental and cognitive health and wellbeing, which are aspects that so often take a hit as you follow a calorie restricted diet.

This is always one of the worst symptoms I get when restricting my food intake – brain fog descends and blurs the world around me, which is no good for a writer and parent trying to juggle everything healthily.

Nootropics can help, of course. Having a nootropic blended into a thermogenic fat burner whilst going through a solid calorie deficit makes a great deal of sense – if it does the job of both as well as separate supplements would, why not kill two birds with one stone?

I’m not always into two-for-ones. I’m generally fairly skeptical about them. Surely you would be better off going with two specialist supplements.

In this case, this would mean a specialist thermogenic fat burner that does nothing but zero in on aiding your weight loss diet, alongside a specialist nootropic that focuses solely on aiding healthy cognitive function and mental wellbeing. Something like Hunter Burn paired with NooCube (which I’ve done and had great results from several times).

But PrimeShred has managed to do what few things can – it’s helped me to shelve my skepticism, which is no mean feat. I’m a pretty skeptical person in general, known for stubbornness and an unwillingness to change my mind. They’re not attractive qualities, of course, so it’s always nice to find something that breaks through them.

And PrimeShred manages it. It gives you pretty much the same benefits you would expect to experience from taking both a good nootropic and a good thermogenic fat burner separately.

So what exactly are these benefits? What are we looking for from both a good nootropic and a good thermogenic fat burner, and from PrimeShred specifically?

Well, PrimeShred brings with it some pretty profound benefits under the right circumstance.

These circumstances do have to be right, otherwise nothing will work. A thermogenic fat burner will help your body to burn a few more calories than it otherwise would, all things equal.

But it will never make up for a poor diet. It will only really work in conjunction with a healthy diet, including a calorie deficit. You will need to cut around 500 calories from your daily maintenance intake to be able to lose around a solid pound of weight per week.

Most of this weight loss will come from fat if you keep to a good resistance training program and eat plenty of lean, good quality, complete protein.

This in place, a good thermogenic fat burner like PrimeShred can come into play. A mixture of clinically justified ingredients like green tea extract, cayenne pepper, and caffeine will help to bolster metabolism, thermogenesis, and fat oxidation, at least in theory.

I have little reason to doubt this theory – thermogenic fat burners like PrimeShred (and very much including PrimeShred) have often given my weight loss efforts a bit of a boost.

When I last took PrimeShred, I ran my normal 500-calorie daily deficit whilst keeping everything else as normal. This would usually mean a weight loss of around six pounds over eight weeks for me – my body isn’t good at letting go of weight, so I typically lag behind what you might normally expect.

PrimeShred made up for this. I lost eight and a half pounds, with that extra coming from various benefits offered by PrimeShred’s thermogenic side.

These benefits are many and varied.

Firstly, you should expect to see a significant increase in energy levels. The fatigue and lack of motivation that often accompany a calorie deficit are managed to a very high standard with PrimeShred’s use of ingredients like L-tyrosine and caffeine.

Both are known for their ability to elevate energy levels, enhance focus, and boost alertness.  I always struggle with lethargy when I’m not eating enough, and this helps me to get by without having to reach for the sugary snacks.

It also plays well into maintaining a healthy, active lifestyle. It’s no good cutting calories if you’re suddenly too tired to work out. The energy you get from PrimeShred compensates, giving you everything you need to hit the gym pretty hard, consistently.

It will also help you very ably, very immediately, with changing your body composition for the better. It should help you to preserve lean muscle mass whilst losing a little bit more fat than you usually would.

Given I have to work very hard for some of my gains (I’m an upper-body slow gainer), I don’t want to see that muscle mass fade away when I need to slim down a little. Anything like PrimeShred that can help is therefore very welcome.

Hunger pangs aren’t usually too bad for me, but cravings are. Happily, PrimeShred helps to manage both, so whatever your reason for reaching for extra calories, you should be in good hands.

It makes good use of ingredients like glucomannan, a natural dietary fiber that swells up to fifty times its starting size in the gut, and thus contributes to inducing a feeling of fullness, reducing cravings and suppressing your appetite. The formula as a whole is built to help you stick to a calorie deficit far more easily.

This has a secondary benefit. Weight loss diets can be bad for fiber intake. You will likely under-eat it, which will ruin your gut and digestive health. The former is crucial for health and weight loss. The latter is just… crucial.

Constipation is helpful for nobody, and it can be otherwise common on a restricted eating plan. A good source included here is perfect for overcoming this common deficiency.

Then there are, of course, the nootropic benefits. These have helped me out a lot over the years – I’ve used plenty of nootropic supplements, and PrimeShred is as good as most (though not the top-tier ones… still, not bad for a B-side benefit.)

Ingredients like DMAE will help to undo the brain fog and poor cognition that can often come hand in hand with calorie deficits, as well as the lack of energy, motivation, and drive, and the overall poor mental health and heightened anxiety inherent to any restricted eating plan.

It all boils down to two things, in essence. PrimeShred will physically help you to maintain your calorie deficit with greater ease and in better health, all whilst helping you to improve body composition – the ratio of fat to muscle, simply put. It will also help to undo many of the negative cognitive effects associated with dieting – low energy, brain fog, anxiety, poor cognition, and so on.

PrimeShred Ingredients

All of these benefits come courtesy of an impressive list of top-tier ingredients, all very cleverly combined.

Green tea extract straddles both camps – it has minor benefits for weight loss as well as pretty important benefits for cognitive health and function. Green tea comes from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. It has a centuries long history of use in various forms of traditional medicine due to the numerous health benefits it has to offer.

Nowadays, it is increasingly found in popular weight loss products and nootropics alike. In fact, I drink green tea myself every day to make the most of the health benefits it has to offer.

Green tea extract is a thermogenic ingredient – it boosts metabolism, allowing for more effective fat burning even when in a calorie deficit. It also has the ability to stimulate fat-burning hormones like norepinephrine, which aids in the breakdown of stored fat cells.

Furthermore, studies have shown that green tea extract can help reduce triglyceride levels, contributing to a healthier cardiovascular system.

Green tea also works incredibly well as a nootropic. This is in large part due to its high content of L-theanine, an amino acid that promotes relaxation and reduces stress, which is precisely what I drink it for.

L-theanine also enhances cognitive function by increasing dopamine and serotonin levels, leading to improved focus, attention, and mood regulation – all very useful things when challenging yourself on a weight loss diet.

You also get a good helping of rhodiola rosea root with PrimeShred. It’s one of the better weight loss ingredients going, with the potential to activate an enzyme that facilitates the breakdown of stored fat.

It can also help to bolster energy levels and performance by improving oxygen transportation to muscles, making intense workout sessions more manageable. It should help you to keep your gym performance up even as you cut calories from your diet.

This is compounded with caffeine, which you get in PrimeShred in a couple of different forms. It’s another ingredient with a foot in each camp – it’s great for attention and energy on the nootropic side, whilst also being one of the better thermogenic ingredients going.

How? It helps to stimulate metabolism and increase fat burning by promoting the production of key fat-burning hormones such as epinephrine and norepinephrine, whilst also being a pretty decent appetite suppressant. It’s a no-brainer for a supplement like PrimeShred.

You get both caffeine anhydrous and green coffee in PrimeShred. Caffeine anhydrous is a concentrated form of caffeine known for its high potency and bioavailability. Green coffee, meanwhile, is taken from unroasted, raw coffee beans. It’s a rich source of chlorogenic acid – a compound believed to offer several health benefits, including support for weight management.

L-tyrosine is one of the more important nootropic ingredients included in PrimeShred’s formula. It’s an amino acid that plays a critical role in producing various neurotransmitters in the brain.

It improves focus, alertness, and concentration by helping to preserve neurotransmitters like dopamine and norepinephrine, and supports cognitive function by enhancing working memory, which in turn is important for tasks such as problem-solving, decision-making, and learning.

L-tyrosine may even offer some stress-reducing effects, helping to mitigate the negative impact of stress on mental performance and potentially preventing emotional eating.

DMAE supports all of this very ably. DMAE, (or dimethylaminoethanol) is a naturally occurring compound in the brain. Though our bodies produce some, exogenous sources can be very useful.

Higher amounts of DMAE than we naturally produce have been linked to improved focus and alertness, as it can boost acetylcholine production. This plays a role in various cognitive processes, including memory, attention, and learning. It also aids muscle contraction, making it a great ally for anybody looking to keep their athleticism as they slim down.

Finally, you get a solid B vitamin complex with PrimeShred. It includes vitamin B3, vitamin B6, and vitamin B12.

Vitamin B3, also known as niacin, assists in converting food into energy and supports the function of various enzymes involved in energy metabolism. Vitamin B6, also known as pyridoxine, is involved in the metabolism of proteins and glycogen, which are important for muscle growth and energy production.

Vitamin B12, also known as cobalamin, is essential for the production of red blood cells and the maintenance of a healthy nervous system. It also plays a role in converting food into energy.

As for the capsules themselves, they contain 5mg of Bioperine, which enhances the bioavailability of the ingredients by up to 30%.

Again, it’s important to bear in mind that these ingredients, whilst good, are no match for proper diet and exercise. You will need a solid 500-calorie daily deficit per pound or so of fat you want to lose each week. That’s non-negotiable – outside of pharmaceutical or surgical intervention, there is no way around it.

However, this can be helped along by some of the thermogenic ingredients included in PrimeShred, to the tune of about 50-100 calories per day. It’s not much, but it’s a good cherry on the cake.

A calorie deficit like this will also come with side effects, including low energy, poor athleticism, and poor cognitive function. PrimeShred should be able to help in undoing many of these side effects, making the whole process that much easier to live with and thrive whilst doing.

PrimeShred is great. It does what few supplements manage to do and combine a couple of different styles of supplement without becoming a Jack of all trades (or, of course, master of none).

Indeed, it is a far better thermogenic fat burner than most, able to give you everything you need to comfortably run a calorie deficit with few of the usual side effects kicking in. It’s an equally good nootropic supplement, helping to support your cognitive and mental wellbeing as you cut calories and risk heightened anxiety mixed with sluggishness, brain fog, and a lack of motivation.

I’ve used it to great effect myself several times. As an avid nootropic fan, and having reviewed plenty of thermogenic fat burners, I know what I’m looking for from both. And PrimeShred delivers to an exceptional standard.
