We’ve tested some serious contenders in the thermogenic fat burning arena, as well as some pretty poor ones. Where does Burn-XT fall into this spectrum? Find out the good, bad and ugly in this honest Burn-XT review.

There are plenty of very good thermogenic fat burners in today’s supplement market – supplements designed largely to support weight loss efforts by slightly raising your metabolism whilst also undoing many of the unpleasant side effects associated with restricted eating plans.

Burn-XT is decent. It’s a good product. However, I’m unsure how well it can stand against the competition. The market is, after all, a crowded one, and there are some real gems out there.

Quick Verdict On Burn-XT

Burn XT bottle

I like Burn-XT. It’s a good example of its kind.

However, this is the problem – it’s good in a crowded marketplace where good often isn’t good enough. You’ll get some decent results on it.

All the ingredients are there. It’s just that there are better options available if you’re really looking for something that will deliver.

Honestly, I would go straight to the top shelf with something like Capsiplex Burn, one of the best thermogenic supplements out there.

What is Burn-XT?

Burn XT bottle

Burn-XT is a so-called fat burner made by a pretty decent supplement company called Jacked Factory. It’s popular, too – in fact, it’s been amongst Amazon’s best-selling fat burners for several years now.

Though this is no promise of quality, it at least makes me curious – what does everyone buying it see in it?

A note, first. Fat burners are a curious thing. This is because they don’t generally work all that well at what their name suggests.

No, they are not magic pills that somehow ‘burn’ extra fat. Far from it. Outside of pretty hardcore pharmaceuticals, this isn’t really a thing.

But I still advocate fat burners; indeed, I happily still advocate Burn-XT.

Firstly, there is something behind their fat burning potential. A little.

Burn-XT and its ilk offer thermogenic properties – this is, the ingredients within them have been shown to ramp up metabolism, thus creating more heat (hence the name, thermo genesis). Ultimately, Burn-XT works in part by increasing the body’s core temperature, leading to a boost in the metabolic rate. This process enhances fat burning and aids in weight loss efforts.

Burn-XT contains a combination of pretty potent ingredients common to thermogenic fat burners, including the clinically proven Capsimax®, which is known for its ability to increase thermogenesis and support fat oxidation.

However, the effect is small. Welcome, but marginal. You’re looking at potentially 50-100 calories per day.

This is great when tacked onto a good calorie deficit (300-500 calories per day is probably a good place to start). It’s great when you consider that calorie deficits often slow the metabolism, and this thermogenic effect will likely plug that gap. It just won’t work wonders. You still need to put the work into getting your diet and lifestyle right, geared towards fat loss.

The main benefits, as we will see, are the secondary ones – a good thermogenic fat burner will make your calorie deficit easier to create, stick to, and manage, whilst undoing many of the unpleasant side effects associated with restricted eating. This is golden – it’s why I would push potential weight loss dieters towards them.

And it’s here where I might part ways with Burn-XT a little. Not that it’s bad – it isn’t, and it enjoys a small amount of clinical data lending it a bit of credence otherwise so often lacking in the modern supplement market. It’s just that it’s a packed market and, honestly, plenty of other supplements fill these secondary roles far more ably.

What are the benefits of using it?

The benefits you’ll experience with Burn-XT are just as you would expect of a supplement of its kind, and will be potentially profound if you use it as a supplement to a healthy diet and exercise regimen. There are better options out there, but it’s still no slouch.

One of the key benefits is its thermogenic properties. As we’ve touched on already, Burn-XT is designed to increase the body’s core temperature, which can boost the metabolic rate and increase fat burning. It’s a well-known theory that’s been floating about the fitness industry for some time now (even if the actual science underpinning it can be a little faulty).

At heart, Burn-XT is a solid thermogenic fat burner, meaning that it can potentially help with weight loss and improved body composition.

Additionally, Burn-XT contains a blend of carefully chosen ingredients that can provide other benefits – the secondary benefits mentioned above, which I typically find to be far more profoundly helpful than the actual thermogenic heart of this kind of supplement.

The Burn-XT formula includes a bouquet of antioxidant properties and ingredients that support weight loss, and provide increased energy levels and mental focus. All these aspects take a hit when you’re in a calorie deficit. These benefits make the challenge of weight loss that more comfortable and achievable, all the while pushing you to do more during workouts or other physical activities.

Another potential benefit of Burn-XT is that it can help to suppress appetite. I don’t need to explain how profoundly helpful this can be to anybody trying to run a calorie deficit – trying, in essence, to avoid those progress-destroying snacks and bigger portions.

Anything that can help you to keep your calorie intake down will help with weight loss, far more so than just about any other claim we might see about Burn-XT and its kin.

Burn XT ingredients

Burn-XT contains a really very nice blend of ingredients that work together to support fat burning and weight loss efforts. However, this blend is also where it falls down a little bit. Everything included is good and well thought out. It’s just a little lacking.

For example, every 2-capsule serving of Burn-XT will give you 700 mg of Acetyl L-Carnitine HCI. This ingredient is thought to help free up stored fat whilst boosting transportation of fatty acids into the mitochondria, where it can be used as fuel for energy production.

Acetyl L-Carnitine HCI also has cognitive benefits, boosting mental function, which may be sorely needed during any calorie deficit (when brain fog and lethargy can stop you in your tracks).

You also get 450 mg of Green Tea Extract with each serving of Burn-XT. Green tea is a fantastic source of epigallocatechin-gallate (EGCG), a powerful antioxidant that has been shown to increase fat loss and boost energy levels. Additionally, the natural caffeine content in green tea gives us that much-needed energy kick.

This in turn is backed up by 270 mg of Caffeine Anhydrous, one of the more potent forms of caffeine going. It’s a well-known stimulant that increases energy levels, alertness, and cognitive function, all whilst giving a potent thermogenic effect in its own right.

Capsimax Cayenne Pepper Extract is arguably the star player in this formula, included in Burn-XT™ at 50 mg per serving. Cayenne pepper is one of the better thermogenic ingredients out there – in fact, it’s so good that no thermogenic fat burner worth its salt goes without it. I’ve yet to encounter a good one that doesn’t use it.

Finally, you get 5 mg of BioPerine per serving. BioPerine is a patented form of piperine (or black pepper fruit extract) that improves other ingredients’ bioavailability, which is why you will see it in so many modern supplements. It also has its own small thermogenic effect, but this is very much its secondary role here.

Again, it’s not a bad list. These are all good inclusions. It’s just weak – most formulas are far more comprehensive than this, and honestly, you could do better.

Our top alternatives

Capsiplex Burn capsules in hand next to open bottle

I’d recommend something like Capsiplex Burn. I’ve used it myself to great effect in the past and have always found it a worthwhile ally during any cut/weight loss phase.

It gives you everything you want – everything that Burn-XT gives you – just more. It’s a more comprehensive product with a more comprehensive formula.

It’s got pretty much everything included in its formula that Burn-XT gives you – green tea, caffeine, piperine (black pepper), and, of course, Capsimax, rich in capsicum.

With Capsiplex Burn you benefit from the addition of Green Coffee Extract, which has been shown to improve body composition in just 3 months, as well as boost your energy levels.

It also gives plenty more, including InnoSlim, a patented blend of ginseng and astragalus. The theory runs that it limits glucose absorption, triggering adiponectin to promote fat burning.

You also get L-Arginine and L-Tyrosine, which should work together to improve both physical and mental performance, both of which are often much needed on any kind of weight loss regime.

Then there are a couple of vitamins and minerals.

For minerals, we’re looking at Iodine, which is crucial for regulating thyroid hormone (which, in turn, is fundamental to keeping your metabolism healthy and controlling your weight); and Chromium, which aids in improving insulin response (again, invaluable during any weight loss regimen).

A good B vitamin complex rounds this out, with B3, B6, and B12. Collectively, these help with healthy musculature, which often suffers during a calorie deficit, and in bolstering energy levels and stamina.

So, everything you get from Burn-XT, plus a fair amount more. This is honestly the kind of comprehensive approach that you should expect your money to get you in 2024 – it’s makes far better use of your hard-earned cash, and will give you so much more during any weight loss phase.

Verdict

Burn-XT is decent enough, it’s just limited. The ingredients list is too small. There is, of course, such a thing as paired back and elegant – sadly, that’s not what we get here. Rather, we just get something slightly lacklustre, something that could and should give you a bit more for your money.

I like it. It just exists in a market crowded with far better options – options like Capsiplex Burn, which goes all in with its formula for very good results.
